new membership tiering
Our Membership renewal period starts November 1st and we're introducing some changes to how we reward our Members.
From now on, we will be offering tiering to our members, meaning members who regularly visit the venue are appropriately awarded.
Members will be placed in a tier based on their spend in the last 12 months across the venue.
However, we have given our Service Members a base tier of Gold – irrespective of their earned points balance. If they spend enough money to go up a tier, then they will, but they will never go lower than Gold.
The tiering point balance does not take into account any Bonus points - ie. birthday points, raffle prizes or other points that are gifted to you. It is purely based on the points that you have earned through purchases made in the venue and is calculated in the background.
Tiering will be adjusted monthly, either up or down, depending on your earned points total. Members may go up or down, depending on the balance of their earned points over the 12 month period.
Birthday offers - Birthday offers can only be claimed during your birthday month. Points will expire 30 days from the date that you swipe in your birthday month.
Prize Redemption with Points - swipe your card at the kiosk to see what gifts you can purchase using your points.
Function Room Hire - hold your function in our ANZAC Room and receive a discounted room hire (excludes Club tier).
Points expiry - Points will expire 12 months after they are issued (excluding Black tier members).
Daily Visitation Points - swipe your card each day you are in the Club to earn daily Visitation Points (excludes Club tier).
Monthly Food Offer - offers must be claimed within the month of offer.
Monthly offer - Monthly points can be claimed when you first swipe in each month (Platinum & Black tiers only). Points will expire 30 days from the date that you swipe in each month.
Points can be used to purchase food and beverages, club gift cards, or prizes through our kiosk.

Membership information
Over the last several months, we have been transitioning to a stand alone Membership system - Caulfield Rewards.
There will be some changes to the Membership system, depending on the type of member that you are - Service, Affiliate, Social, Associate or Community.
The main difference is that Caulfield/NZ RSL members are no longer part of the RSL Victoria "RSL Rewards" promotions and are ineligible for any promotions run by RSL Victoria.
See below for the differences depending on Membership type.
Caulfield/ NZ Life, Service or Affiliate Members
Life, Service and Affiliate members are considered members of the Victorian RSL - not just Caulfield RSL.
As such - these members will have 2 membership cards - the traditional blue/grey RSL Victoria Card and a new green Caulfield RSL Card.
The RSL Victoria card (at right) is to be used when the member is at a Victorian RSL OTHER than Caulfield. This card will not work to earn or redeem points at Caulfield RSL, however it CAN be swiped at the kiosk of other RSL's and used to earn and redeem points at those Venues. Points accrued on this card can only be redeemed at Caulfield RSL by way of a venue voucher. As our members are no longer enrolled in the RSL Rewards program, it is likely that when swiped at the kiosk of another Club, the message received will be 'No promotions available at this time".
The green Caulfield card is to be used when the member is at Caulfield RSL to earn points, receive members discounts and enter Caulfield Rewards promotions. This card is to be swiped at the Right Hand kiosk in the foyer.
This card will not work to earn or redeem points at any other venue other than Caulfield RSL. Service and Affiliate members should always carry their separate RSL Victoria card when visiting other RSL's.
THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL MEMBERSHIP CHARGE TO HAVE 2 CARDS - 1 MEMBERSHIP FEE COVERS BOTH CARDS
Caulfield/ NZ Social Members
Caulfield/ NZ Social members will no longer be able to use their membership cards at other Victorian RSL's beyond Feb 1st 2023.
Members who are financial for 2023 will receive a new green Caulfield RSL membership card to be used when at the Caulfield RSL. This card will not work at other Victorian RSL's and cannot be used to earn or receive points at other Victorian RSL's. Reciprocal rights at other Victorian RSL's are at the discretion of that RSL.
Caulfield Social members who frequent other RSL's who have a relative who has served in the Military - or who themselves have seen service in the Emergency Services - can 'upgrade' to an Affiliate and enjoy the benefits as listed above for Affiliate membership.
The relative can include - parent, grandparent, sibling, grandchild, step-child, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephew, niece, uncle or aunt. If the Member themselves has done 6 months service in the Police, Ambulance, Fire Brigade or SES they are also eligible to upgrade to an Affiliate.
To enquire about upgrading to an Affiliate member, please click HERE.
Caulfield/NZ Associate or Community Members.
Associate members are financial social members of other Victorian RSL's who have taken out a second paid membership at Caulfield RSL. They must retain their full membership at the other RSL to be eligible for Associate membership.
These members have a paid membership at a Victorian RSL other than Caulfield, who have then paid to also be a member at Caulfield. As these members are still enrolled in the RSL Victoria RSL Rewards program, they are not eligible to win prizes in the Caulfield Rewards program, nor our Members draw. They will be issued a green Caulfield RSL card which will earn them points and discounts at Caulfield RSL.
Community members are able to earn points at Caulfield RSL only, however are not eligible to win prizes in the Caulfield Rewards program, nor the Members draw and have limited benefits.

HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY JIM!
On the weekend, we were honored to host the 100th birthday party for one of our longest standing members, Jim Arkell.
Jim was surrounded by several generations of family, neighbours and friends.
It was a huge week for Jim, with another lunch at his bowls Club, TV and press articles and the neighbouring local school closed the road to have the students sing Happy Birthday to him!
At lunch, he saw a video message from Her Majesty the Queen, video roasting by friends unable to attend and he was serenaded by 'Marilyn Monroe'.
We wish you a happy birthday Jim, and many more to come!

RSL Victoria Electoral reform proposal
Via a State Executive Communique issued on the 12 October 2021, RSL Victoria President, Dr Robert Webster advised the network that we were establishing an Electoral Reform Advisory Group (ERAG).
Part of the reason for the creation of this group is to look at how we do things within the context of State Annual Conference elections. Whilst the systems and methods we’ve used in the past have served the League and the Membership well, many are no longer best practice. We must ensure that our League remains the Ex-Service Organisation of choice for Victorian Veterans and their families. We must ensure that our League remains beyond reproach with regard to its integrity and governance, so that our elected leaders can advocate freely and without prejudice on behalf of all its Members. To achieve this, we need to continue to improve our processes and ensure we are fit for purpose now and into the future.
To this end, please find attached an information package that the ERAG have created regarding proposed electoral changes.
What we’re asking of you is to take the time to read this and the attached documents:
- ERAG Proposal PowerPoint;
- One Veteran One Vote model analysis;
- Hybrid Voting System model analysis, and;
- Current Voting System model analysis.
…and think about their contents. Whether you’re a Sub-Branch President or only joined the league last week, we need your help in providing feedback and suggestions on these proposals. We’re seeking the opinions of all members of RSL Victoria, from top to bottom, including individuals, committees, regions or any other group.
We know the immense amount of experience and knowledge that exists in the league, and we want to harness that because we recognise that our greatest strength is our members.
Any and all feedback can be sent to [email protected] and we ask that it be provided between now and the 28 February 2022. This will give ERAG time to consider these proposals both individually and also at a Sub-Branch level in the new year.

Melbourne Cup Sweeps
Club will now reopen Saturday 30th at 10am
Last night's wild storms have delayed our reopening plans and we will now not be reopening the Club until tomorrow morning at 10am.
We have limited and intermittent power in the venue, which is affecting our tills, internet, kiosk, lift, some fridges, venue lighting and security.
A nearby tree branch has also given us an unexpected new skylight in our roof.
We appreciate that SES teams and electricians are working hard across Melbourne to restore power, but with the uncertainty of our reconnection time tonight, we have taken the decision to await full reconnection of our services and will now reopen tomorrow at 10am.
We are disappointed by this development, but are putting the safety of our Members and Guests first.
We'll see you tomorrow!
Preorder Poppy-themed masks for Remembrance Day
2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the Poppy Appeal for Remembrance Day.
Like last year, we are offering a range of reusable poppy-themed face masks for sale, with profits raised going to support our Veterans.
There are 7 different designs printed on 2 layer of soft polyester / spandex fabric with over-the-ear elastic straps with bead toggles for adjusting the straps for a snug fit

It has been estimated that every month approximately 130 billion disposable masks are thrown into landfill around the world, equating to 3 million masks every minute.

RSL Victoria statement regarding the Brereton report into Afghanistan
The Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) recently released the long-awaited Afghanistan Inquiry, also known as the Brereton report. The report outlines very serious allegations of wrongdoing by a small number of current or former ADF personnel between 2005-2016.
To everyone who served in Afghanistan, in any role, you should be justly proud of your contribution. You made a difference, and you served your country with honour. Nothing will ever change that. Be proud and stand tall.
The RSL has always been there for our veterans, and at this time, the wellbeing of veterans directly and indirectly involved must be our priority.
RSL Victoria can help connect current members of the ADF and veterans with counselling and mental health support as well as direct welfare, advocacy and wellbeing services. Victorian Veterans in need of support can contact your local RSL Sub-Branch or RSL Victoria’s Veteran Central (VETCEN) between the hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday via 1300 MILVET (1300 645 838).
24-hour support is also available through Open Arms – Veterans & Family Counselling. You can contact Open Arms via 1800 011 046.
Additional support services are listed on the Defence website.

Club to reopen at 10am on Monday 9th November
We are pleased to announce that Caulfield RSL will be reopening on Monday 9th November at 10am.
Attendance at the Club will be governed by capacity restrictions and COVID-safe regulations in place (and will reflect any changes made by the Government tomorrow).
Current regulations require:
All Members and Guests to sign in at the front Reception Desk. Sign-in will be via contactless scanning of Members card or Drivers Licence at the Infosign scanner. Members Kiosk will not be used at this time.
Entry to the Club will be via the front door only. Rear Carpark door will remain as an exit only.
All Members and Guests are to wear an approved face mask unless they can provide a written medical exemption.
Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the venue, and we ask all Members and Guests to make use of them.
Capacity limits and social distancing will also apply separately to patrons in the Gaming Room.
Patrons are to wear their face masks when seated, walking through the venue (to the Bar, Gaming Room, bathrooms etc), however may remove them when seated.
Members and Guests may order from the bar, however all orders will be served by staff to the patron's table.
Once served, all guests are to stay seated and the venue will be adhering to current capacity limits and social distancing rules. Tables and chairs have been spaced appropriately apart and are not to be moved or joined together.
We will be introducing a pop up 'Back Bar' in the Rear Carpark to accommodate more Members and Guests outdoors. This will results in more foot traffic in the carpark, and a slight reduction in car spaces. We ask everyone driving into the car park to be mindful of pedestrians.
We appreciate everyone's compliance with these regulations to allow the Club to reopen and keep Members, Guests and Staff safe.
Remembrance Day
Wednesday November 11th is Remembrance Day and we will be holding our annual service, in line with current restrictions.

Poppy badges for the annual Poppy Appeal are still available in our online store, or at the Club.
Support the annual Poppy Appeal
Wednesday 11th November marks the annual observance of Remembrance Day.
On 'The 11th Hour, of the 11th Day of the 11th Month' commemorates the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front to end World War 1.
Whilst there are now no longer any servicemen or women from the First World War still alive, this day has great significance on our calendar.
You can support the Poppy Appeal by purchasing a Poppy Badge, Poppy themed mask or by donating to the Poppy Appeal.
AGM to be held October 18th
Dear Member,
As you are aware our Annual General Meeting is usually held in early April each year, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have had to defer our Meeting twice so far this year.
We have been advised that we MUST hold an AGM prior to November via electronic communication to fulfil our legal obligations.
It has therefore been decided to hold the meeting via Zoom Webinar on Sunday 18th of October at 3pm. You can find the link to the meeting here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Uy4qmaXwQ52meiuWYg-o0A
All current financial members are able to register to connect to this meeting, however only Life, Service and Affiliate members are eligible to vote.
AGM Reports can be found via this link.
We are endeavouring to get as many Members as possible to attend the meeting however we realise that some members may not have computer technology and once we can all meet normally again it is our intention to call an Extraordinary meeting to bring all members up to date on Club business.
Should you wish to raise a topic for discussion at the AGM, it must be in writing 14 days before the meeting. Email to [email protected]
If you have anything to discuss prior to the meeting do not hesitate to ring me on 0400 597 493
Yours faithfully,
David Labrum

“The government announced that the National Commissioner is being created in recognition of the need for concerted action to address the unacceptably high rates of suicide among the Australian Defence Force (ADF) member and veteran communities.
The National Commissioner’s primary role will be to inquire into the factors and systemic issues contributing to these suicides, and to recommend actions and strategies to support the prevention of future suicides.
Under the Bills, the National Commissioner will have relevant powers broadly equivalent to a Commonwealth Royal Commission. These powers will allow full and genuine inquiries to be held into the tragic past and future deaths by suicide of ADF members and veterans.”
RSL Victoria, RSL Queensland and RSL NSW are leading the development of a National RSL submission to the Federal Attorney-General and would like to invite all Victorian Service members and their families to provide their feedback on this once in a generation opportunity.
Feedback can be provided in two ways, either
• By directly providing written submission to RSL Victoria, which will in turn inform our input to the National RSL submission.
• By providing written submission directly to the Federal Attorney-General
How to make a submission
As previously stated, Service members and their families are invited to send their written submission to [email protected], these submissions will inform the RSL National response to the Attorney-General.
To allow the drafting and subsequent finalisation of the joint RSL National submission, written feedback must be received by Close of Business, 1700 hours Wednesday 9 September 2020.
Additionally, submissions can be sent directly to the Federal Attorney-General, closing date is 24 September 2020.
The National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention Bills, explanatory material and submission form can be found here.

Club to remain closed until late June
We've been very busy behind closed doors for the last few weeks, taking care of some long overdue maintenance, cleaning and rearranging. From June 1st, many venues will reopen for just 20 people, seated in their dining areas. Under these current restrictions, it is not financially viable to reopen Caulfield RSL for just 20 diners, so the Club will not be reopening until regulations are eased further to allow more people into the Venue. Current indications are that the Government will allow 50 people in a venue at the end of June, so we will be working towards that date whilst keeping an eye on ever-changing easing of restrictions, and watching other venues to see what does and doesn't work in keeping members, guests and staff safe and compliant. We appreciate all the messages from members and guests who can't wait to come back to the Club - and we look forward to welcoming you back later in June.
Club Reopens, June 22nd
We are pleased to announce that Caulfield RSL will be reopening for business at 9am on Monday 22nd June.
As our Kitchen is having some much needed maintenance done, the Dining Room will not reopen until around Friday 3rd July.
Under current Government regulations, the Gaming Room will remain closed until late July.
Whilst we are thrilled to be able to reopen, as part of the 'New Normal', there will be some new rules that ALL Members and guests MUST follow:
All Members and Guests must enter the Club through the front door only. Upon entry, all Members and Guests must agree to provide their name and contact details EVERY time they visit the Club. This can be done contactlessly via smartphones or, if you do not have a smart phone, by manually completing a form. This allows us to track the number of people within the venue at any time and ensure we comply with capacity limits.
Spaces within the venue have been set for Social Distancing, tables are 1.5 metres apart and are not to be joined together. All patrons must be seated and will be served at their tables.
Until all members are able to attend the Club on Thursday nights, the Members Draw and all raffles will remain suspended. Similarly, Quizzame and Bingo will remain suspended.
Whilst the Kitchen is currently still closed, patrons can purchase sandwiches, cakes and hot bar snacks from the Main Bar.
Current Government regulations allow a maximum of 20 people per enclosed space, however this is prefaced by a 1 person per 4 square metre rule. This does not mean there will be 20 people allowed in each room - each space will contain the maximum number of people that complies with the 1 person per 4 square metre rule.
We appreciate all the messages of support from Members and Guests keen to return to the Club and hope that everyone will assist Staff and Management will complying with all current and future Government regulations.

Youngsters lead the way in ANZAC commemorations
ANZAC Day took on a whole new meaning this year for all of us, and we have been touched by the contributions of two local girls to remembering the fallen.
Eight year old London is a regular attendee at our annual ANZAC Day service and, as part of a class project, wrote a beautiful letter (click letter at left to enlarge) to our President thanking those who served and expressing her gratitude at the life that she is able to enjoy, because of their sacrifices.
Elwood local, Matilda decided to make ANZAC biscuits to give to the neighbours. As her mother, Kirsty, explained "As a family we value kindness, and community, which of course has never been so important. Matilda was keen to set up a shop. My proposal to her was if she had a shop, the money could be donated to the ANZAC appeal. This created a context of curiosity. What was an ANZAC? What did they need the money for?
"Over a couple of days there were many conversations, family stories shared, and they continue to be shared. Matilda spent the morning helping to make the biscuits, decorating the shop, and then manning the stall determined to see it through.
"Our neighbours and friends were amazing in supporting Matilda with this endeavour.
"We hope that this experience is one of many that helps her to see that as a young citizen, she has the capability to make a difference in the world, and that she continues to do so. " Matilda's efforts raised around $100.
Our President has reached out to both girls and we look forward to welcoming them and their families to the Club when we are allowed to reopen.

ANZAC Day 2020
ANZAC Day 2020 will long be remembered as the year that ANZAC Day was commemorated differently.
Due to social distancing, large commemorations were cancelled, in favour of people staying at home and, with their families and friends 'Lighting Up the Dawn' in their driveways. By all accounts, thousands of people around the country did exactly that, and continued to honour our Veterans.
A small private service was held at Caulfield RSL. President Colin Bradley, New Zealand President James Hohepa Smith and Caulfield General Manager Cameron Griffiths laid wreaths and attended the flags during a short ceremony at 11am. The Last Post was played on the bugle by David O'Meara from CBC St Kilda. A fourth wreath was also laid in memory of the 4 police officers who were killed in the line of duty earlier last week.
Earlier, New Zealand President James Hohepa Smith lead a dawn service with residents from his suburb in Wyndham Vale. See video of that service here.
2020 ANZAC Service
Caulfield RSL member Charles Hulson has recorded an ANZAC Service for 2020.
Charles' service will be shown to some nursing homes and residences that he would normally attend in person.
You can view the video via this link - https://youtu.be/P6DUoykxFeQ
Thank you for making this available, Charles.
Purchase an ANZAC Badge online
This year’s ANZAC Appeal will look very different to previous years, with social distancing restricting the Caulfield RSL’s volunteers from selling ANZAC Badges to the public.
We have now launched an online store HERE where you can purchase ANZAC badges and we will post them to you for FREE!
Monies raised from the sales of these badges goes directly to the Patriotic Appeals fund.
These funds are used to support current and former Veterans and their families in need. This support can include transport to medical appointments, emergency housing, essentials like food and clothing, mobility and medical aids and providing services such as cleaning, garden maintenance, or changing smoke detector batteries that the Veteran is unable to do themselves.
Select the number and denomination of the badges you would like to purchase, click 'Add to Cart', check your order is correct, and then click 'Checkout' and complete your details and click 'Proceed with Order' for payment by credit card.
Or, if you would just like to make a donation to the ANZAC Appeal, please follow this link.
If you experience any problems with purchasing badges, please contact Shauna at [email protected]

CRSL Members walk the Kokoda track
Recently 2 members of our Caulfield Branch RSL undertook the arduous Kokoda Track journey following in the footsteps of the 39th Battalion in their 1942 fighting withdrawal campaign over the rugged Owen Stanley Ranges in Papua New Guinea. The Australians were fighting to slow and eventually turn an overwhelming Japanese force that outnumbered them at times by more than 2 to 1. Additionally the Japanese were experienced jungle fighters, much better equipped and armed against the poorly equipped militia that comprised the 39th battalion.
Peter and Ray participated in a Stand To service at evocative and now serene Isurava - the site of Bruce Kingsbury’s posthumous VC , and the first won on Australian territory; they were also involved in a morning service at Brigade Hill. Notably, the day they reached there was the 77th anniversary of the Battle of Brigade Hill, a battle in which some 87 Australian soldiers died. Both Isurava and Brigade Hill were significant battles in the Kokoda campaign which considerably slowed the Japanese advance.
Peter and Ray’s trek commenced at Kokoda airstrip – itself the scene of considerable fighting between Australian and Japanese forces and continued over the Owen Stanley Ranges for 8 days to Owers' Corner- the beginning of the Kokoda Track near Port Morseby. All up they covered 117 kilometres over some of the most rugged jungle terrain in the world, with brutal climbs that seemed to go on forever, along razor back ridges, then plunging down precipitous descents and repeating the same process over and over for hours on end. The Track was intersected with crossings over precarious rickety log bridges, and through waist high raging river torrents. All this in 95% humidity.
Every step for the whole journey had to be carefully planned and considered with tree roots and mud everywhere, interspersed with oil-slick slippery rocks and clay that varied between stick-to-the- feet glue and instant slide on your backside slippery.
Peter and Ray, both 68 years old believe it was the most challenging thing they have ever done, physically and mentally. Ray said it was even more gruelling than a trek he completed some years ago to the foot of Mount Everest. They both have a profound respect for the young men (average age 18.5) of the 39 Battalion and the various 2nd AIF battalions that fought along the track in defence of Australia.
They began training 12 months ago and both report they have lost a significant amount of weight – in Peter’s case 4kg in training and another 4kgs on the Track. This was despite enormous high carbohydrate meals 3 times a day, interspersed with morning and afternoon teas and other snacks. Each day commenced with reveille at 5 AM, and two starts at 4 AM. These early starts were required to cover sufficient distance each day over the rugged terrain to enable getting off the track at about 4:30 PM each day.
The trek was organised through Adventure Kokoda whose principal, Major Charlie Lynn, is a Vietnam veteran. The trek was led by Bernie Rowell. Bernie is an expert on the Kokoda campaign, and he was able to illustrate the placement of Australian and Japanese forces as well as demonstrate in detail the strategies and tactics employed by both sides at each battle site.
At the end of the Trek the group visited Bomana Cemetery outside Port Moresby. It was a very moving experience; the cemetery is very well maintained by the Australian War Graves Commission.
Peter and Ray are in the club most Thursday evenings and if you are interested to know more about their adventure just approach them; they will be more than happy to talk to you
Stained Glass Windows Appeal
All Caulfield RSL members and guests are aware of the 2 stained glass windows either side of the fire place in the Dining room. What they may not know is their history. They were commissioned by the club when the current building was constructed around 1934. The windows were designed by club member Bernard [Bernie] William Patrick Bragg [Service number 2870].
He was a draughtsman when he enlisted during WW1 and served as a draughtsman drawing maps for his division. In his spare time he illustrated the unit diaries and war records, many of which can be seen on the Australian War Memorial website. As well he has works in State and Federal Galleries.
One window represents the Diggers in the trenches at both Gallipoli and on the Western front, while the other represents the charge of the Light horse at Beersheba.
Over the years the windows have started to show signs of wear, to the point we need to completely remove them, replace some bits of the glass and renew the lead. We will also place an additional layer of glass over the leadlight to ensure we don't need to repeat the exercise in 85 years. If sufficient funds are raised we will also upgrade the lighting to make them a feature.
The cost of this work will be nearly $11,000. We have been able to get a grant for $4000.00 from the Department of Veterans Affairs but we need to raise the other $7000.
We are offering members the opportunity to donate towards this Target. For donations of $1000 or more the donor will be able to have a small plaque placed adjacent to the windows and perhaps use it to acknowledge or remember a friend or relative that served.
These windows have now been recognised as being of National Importance and have been placed on a State register, however this does not bring funding.
If you can donate please contact the club on 9528-3600 and talk to Cameron or Shauna.
We hope to have the windows completed for ANZAC Day 2020.

Have you served overseas as a member of the army reserve?
Researchers from the Swinburne University of Technology are conducting a study into employment challenges faced by Army Reservists transitioning back into the civilian workforce after completing overseas operation duty.
You will be asked to attend a one-hour one-on-one interview that will focus on your experience in transitioning from your overseas deployment back into the civilian workforce.
Results from this study will help researchers develop a better understanding of the transition challenges faced by reservists who have served overseas on full-time duty.
We would like to hear from currently serving or former Army Reserve personnel who:
• Have served overseas on operation duty as a reservist
• Are between the ages of 21 and 55 years
• Have been in the civilian workforce in any capacity (contract, casual, part-time, fulltime) for at least three years
• Residing in Victoria and willing to volunteer for a one-hour private interview in the Melbourne CBD or at an RSL sub-branch near where you live or work.
The ethical aspects of this research have been approved by both the Departments of Defence and Veterans’ Affairs Human Research Ethics Committee and the Swinburne University of Technology Human Research Ethics Committee.

ANZAC Badge collection
We have now launched our annual ANZAC badge appeal, and are on the lookout for volunteers to help out.
Caulfield RSL President, Colin Bradley, said that he would love to see new volunteers donate their time in support of the ANZAC Appeal.
“In this, our 100th year, we have set an ambitious fundraising target for this year’s ANZAC Appeal and need our community's support to reach our goal. We want to get more volunteers out there selling badges and raising much needed funds for veterans.”
“We would welcome the support of anyone who has an hour or two of their time to donate to the Appeal” , continued Mr Bradley said. “This could involve helping us pack the badges into trays, dropping our ANZAC Appeal badges off at local businesses or helping us sell badges for an hour or two”
RSL Victoria Appeals Manager, Peter Smith OAM said “Raising funds for veterans and their families in times of need is what we do and we welcome businesses, sporting clubs, friends and family to be a part of helping this great cause”. Mr Smith added that you don’t need to be a member of your local RSL to volunteer.
This year, we are collecting at local businesses, railway stations, Caulfield Racecourse, the Jam Factory, Spotlight Centre Carnegie. Dan Murphy's Malvern and Bunnings Moorabbin.
